The bodies of work were created between 4 places in 3 countries, vastly distinct from one another — home where my roots are and one of the most dense cities in the world — locked down for the first time, a megacity, ghosted during lockdown — the capital of history’s largest empire at one time,  an island in the Indian Ocean — isolated and idyllic, and a protected forest in the middle of an African metropolis — these places are both familiar and unfamiliar and have served as permanent and temporary homes. There was a kind of other-worldliness between different geographies during this unfamiliar time – work from which is now assembled together on a balcony/ façade and contained in my studio.
